Program Overview:


 The USDA Internship Program provides paid work experience to high school seniors and students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited institution. Interns will gain valuable professional development experience by taking advantage of career training, individual mentoring, research experiences, professional webinars, and much more.


 


 Eligibility:



  • TMCF member-school student



  • U.S. Citizen



  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA



  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate students






Program Dates: June 2  - August 8, 2014


Application Deadline: February 28, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. EST


Award Announcement: Around mid-March 2014


Internship Placement Location: FL, IA, DC, SC, MD and CO




Benefits to Intern:



  • Expose students to Federal work experience and agricultural careers



  • Collaboration with USDA scientists and research interns



  • Possible conversion to a career-conditional appointment after graduation and completion of program requirements




*Selected participants will be required to undergo a National Agency Check before being granted access to government computer systems.
